Helping Hands in Cape Town

On Saturday, 2 November, we were privileged to join the Friends of the Liesbeek, together with Bellville Stake, in cleaning up the Liesbeek River which runs past our new Temple Site. It was wonderful to take in all the natural beauty while restoring the river and it’s banks to a cleaner state.

In October, a stream of yellow covered Strand Beach as members from the Somerset Ward and Strand Branch gathered to clean up the beach. No straw was left behind!

Also in October, the wonderful members of the Montana Branch gathered to prepare a warm meal for a nearby community. There was not only warm soup but also warm hearts at the end of this Helping Hands event.

The first presidency have said:

“When we love God with all our hearts, He turns our hearts to the well-being of others in a beautiful, virtuous cycle.”

Thank you to all our members and friends who are so willing to reach out and serve!
